After such a great HOT weekend I guess we are all "red necks" in one way
or another. We could not have asked for better weather, except for maybe
a little air conditioning (we Washingtonians will complain rain or shine).
It was a great weekend for our 5th Annual Silverdale Soap Box Derby
Championships! Everyone is to be commended for a smooth check-in process
this year. The staggered arrival times help greatly in reducing stress
and insuring cars were all thoroughly looked over. All drivers (and Pit
Crews) are to be commended on the quality of cars that were inspected -
you all did a great job this year. A special thank you goes out to United
Moving and Storage for allowing us to stage this event at their facility
again this year (5 years running). Also to Craig Loidhamer for providing
hot dogs, chips, and soda again this year for all the drivers, families,
and volunteers. Thanks Craig!
The banquet Saturday night was a big hit! The room looked great thanks to
Stacy Wright and the ladies that helped her. And the food was terrific
thanks to the magic of Ryan and Kim Ositis! Everyone had a good time and
it was fun to see and hear from our past champs trip to Akron last year -
Malia Barber (Super Stock) and Abbie Wright (Stock).
And now on to what you have all been waiting for - the Winners! We
actually consider all of the drivers winners - they demonstrated a great

This email would not be complete without thank in the Marines for their
tireless work of lifting the cars all day! And, to the Silverdale Sunrise
Rotary members that participated in putting on such a great event! And
finally, a Thank You to all that volunteered and participated in helping
this to be a great success again this year!
Can't wait to - See you on the track!
